Curriculum

The curriculum strives to ensure that students make good progress academically, whilst developing independence skills for later life, and a continued focus on communication in the most appropriate form for the individual. Students are supported in their learning by a range of teachers and teaching assistants, including subject specialists, and are encouraged to engage in all subject areas to gain a broad understanding of the world.

Religious Education

At Hallmoor School, we are committed to providing a high quality Religious Education programme.

Legal Requirements:

  • Statutory Requirement: As a school, we provide Religious Education ‘so far as is practicable’ for all registered pupils, in accordance with the legal requirements outlined in the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.
  • Curriculum Framework: Our RE curriculum is aligned with the locally agreed syllabus, which reflects the principal religious traditions in Great Britain, primarily Christianity, while also considering the teachings and practises of other major religions represented in our community.

Parental Rights:

  • Withdrawal from RE: Parents have the right to withdraw their children from Religious Education. If you wish to exercise this right, please contact the school office for more information on the process.
